John Lennon’s acerbic wit and rebellious nature represented the era’s counterculture; with President Nixon trying to deport him from Lennon’s Manhattan home during the Vietnam war for his peace activism and open criticism of the administration. This, the very first in a strictly limited edition of 12 bronze portraits of John Lennon seeks to represent this moment in time.
This bronze, life size bust is sculpted by the rapidly emerging English artist Linda Joyce. The patina on each of these bronzes is to the customers choosing, making each Bronze truly unique.
Linda's bronzes are breaking new ground with the combination of several different coloured patinas on a single bust. Linda’s John has been sculpted to reflect John’s wistful expression and style associated with his perhaps most enduring image around the time of his ‘Imagine’ album; a time that held so much promise but which was to be so prematurely curtailed. As with Linda’s Amy Winehouse sculpture last year, Linda’s growing international reputation guarantees these bronzes as collector’s items. Each bronze comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Linda Joyce. www.iconsandlegends.org
